On Mar.17, 2020, PlatON hosted its second community council on Zoom. PlatON Chief Architect Mr. Shenglin Li and Head of PlatON Tech Community Mr. Zhijing Fu shared the further details about PlatON’s consensus mechanism and economic model, and the $200M LatticeX Grants program as well, with all node partners and community members.
Mr. Li made a deep and complete interpretation for the technical details of PlatON’s consensus mechanism and economic model including the reason why PlatON applies PPoS consensus mechanism, the election of validators, the block production logic under CBFT protocol, and mechanisms of reward and punishment, etc. Plus, he shared the latest project progress of PlatON. “We will release the upgraded new Baleyworld test net v0.11.0 with WASM supported and 6 underlying items improved, in early April . Currently, we see a smooth and stable PlatON new Baleyworld during Galaxy Rally, and we sincerely welcome all developers, security researchers and PlatON supporters to join in the testing campaign to help with PlatON’s governance and complete PlatON ecosystem.”Mr. Li emphasized when presenting the latest project progress of PlatON.
Concerning LatticeX Grants, the $200M funding program that focuses on the development of privacy-preserving computation, LatticeX system, PlatON ecosystem and even the whole blockchain industry, Mr. Fu said, it has been well-received by developers, tech experts and scholars worldwide since the very beginning it’s launched, and we’ve received over 20 applications within 2 weeks. The applicants include cryptography researchers, top colleges, node partners, and even teams and individuals from other projects’ communities. And we see all kinds of applications including basic technology features, programs relevant to scalability, privacy-preserving computation, supported tool, security, cryptography, etc., all of these themes are of great importance to the development of LatticeX system.
So far, PlatON team has communicated with the applicants, and will select the first Grants projects after evaluation. Please pay attention to the announcement, and we sincerely welcome all promising projects to apply for Grants funding. Let’s facilitate and complete LatticeX ecosystem jointly.
